Queer?
What does it mean?
When I read queer articles I get so angry. I never said anything because I wanted to identify why I would get frustrated. When I read something I feel like it’s just another group telling me I am wrong, I am living my life wrong, I am not adequate, and that my thought process is incorrect. It is comparable to the right telling me I am wrong.
Usually people feel that way when something challenges the ideas they have put at the foundation of their actions and convictions. So I suppose it’s normal to feel this way when you are gay and are raised by straight parents and media. I realize that there is a possibility that my thought process is in fact skewed because I may have adopted straight ideals, but at the same time I need clarification why this is wrong. I read about white, gay pro assimilation agenda of gay marriage and how it’s bad. Why?(obviously I have not read THAT much on it. Enlighten me please)
I don’t want to view people who identify themself as queer as my enemy. They are suppose to be my community, my kin, my siblings, my equals. I want to understand. I need more education. I appreciate any and all respectful conversation and discussion.
