I hate going out in public now, because now I notice clothes that people wear. Especially when they got them from my place of work. Why? Because when I see them I think, “oh.. that knit top with crochet insert with a light floral pattern? First floor, innocent meadow” or ” Oh look! A Tie dye navy maxi dress? Double exposed piece, 1st floor tropical and 3rd floor Hazy”. or “oh look she’s wearing distressed cuffed denim shorts with a braided belt, and a tucked in coral striped tank. Shorts, 3rd floor Prairie, tank will be 2nd floor basics, UNLESS it is in fact a body suit(and since it’s coral I’m sure it is) 1st floor Paris.” My job likes to remind me that I work there.
The store is organized by look. Meaning certain styles go in certain shops with a corresponding cutesy name. I usually work in Tropical Punch, which I endearingly refer to as TROPIC THUNDA. These clothes are like, beachy, bright colors, tie dyes, darker wash cut off shorts, striped rib tanks, bright big floral prints, body con skirts etc. In order to help with go backs, you learn the shops’ detail, so you know where a piece goes. Even if that piece happens to be the one on the girl two people in front of you while you wait for the ATM, which belongs in the 80’s prom, on the second floor.
A few weeks ago I had the chance to meet Rupert bear’s family. I was SO NERVOUS!!! Anyway, a few days ago he told me his mom and grandma liked me. in his mom’s words “he’s a nice boy, very respectful and polite.” WOO! I never told the story of our meeting, but it’s pretty funny and I will present it in chat form. FYI Rupert bear is Filipino, his family, EXTREMELY FILIPINO!
Neal: Lola?… Lola this is my friend Keith
Lola Ruperto: Ehh? kid?
Me: oh no, it’s Keith.
Lola Ruperto: Keeet?
Me: No like… Key then TH
Lola: Teeth? ohh KEEYY
Me: *nervous laughter*
Lola: You’re name is too hard. I’ll give you a Filipino name. Your Filipino name is Juan
Me:hehe.. that’s my dad’s name -___-
Lola: OH? Your dad is Filipino?!?!
-Later(when I’m leaving)-
Me: It was so nice to meet everyone. Have a good night *walking toward door*
Lola Ruperto: Juan! JUAAAN! wait!*walks out from the kitchen*
Me: uhh… yes?
Lola Ruperto:Juan is your Filipino name, but since we are here in American you are Johnny, okay? So if we were in the Philippines we would call you Juan, but since we are here you are Johnny.
Me: hehe okay
Lola: Okay goodnight Johnny
Needless to say, Rupert was mortified.
You told me you love me today… well yesterday.
So this is what it feels like. I can honestly say I’ve been falling in love with you for the past month, but it happened sometime over our trip; somewhere between singing you Michael Buble’s Everything, and wrestling with you at spam prep.
and I can’t believe that I’m your man
and I get to kiss you baby just because I can

Yesterday I got back from a two and a half day adventure in LA/Orange county with Rupert bear. The boy had a two WHOLE days off from work and school and wanted to escape Fresno. We both share the same disdain for this place so I requested some days off and off we went.
Day one:
We left a bit behind schedule (nine instead of eight). Rupert made Sandwiches for lunch and I packed the apple crisp I made the night before. Since Rupert’s car has a cd player there was no way to connect my ipod or phone so I had to dig out the old cds. We drove down listening to all my high school favorite cds. It was fun. I sang to him the entire way and before I knew it we were already driving up the grapevine. Once we got into So Cal we headed to our first destination. Griffith park. I wanted to make plans to hit up more things, but we decided we would plan at one adventure, and the rest will happen organically. At Griffith park we went to hike up to The Giving Tree to leave a wish inside. The instructions seemed easy enough so we decided not to write them down. We realized this was a poor choice when we got to a fork in the path and realize we passed our desired location. Since we were already here we decided to see where the path would take us and ended up extremely close up to the Hollywood sign and got a breathtakingly gorgeous view of LA. It was amazing, even though it was overcast. I can only imagine what it would look like on a clear day. Anyway on our hike down we found the tree. Wishes left. Hiked back to the car and ate our packed lunch. We tried to find a mural in echo park next, but failed. We then drove to Downtown LA, parked in little Tokyo and walked around downtown. We visited city hall, marveled at the times building, viewed in disguist the obscenely beautiful and frivolous cal trans and LAPD buildings, visited the disney concert hall, rode the Angels Flight and hung out at Angles’ knoll(500 days of summer <3). Then we headed over to Olvera street, had a margarita each and then met up with Doug at Bombu rehearsal and left LA. We ate dinner that night at Shin Sen Gumi and then hung out at Bahia until we went to sleep.
Day two:
Started the day but visiting Natalie/Kelyn/Sam’s aprt and visited with Chiris. Then headed over to UTC to meet with Justin for lunch. We got food from Gen, le dip and in n out and played pokemon until Charleen and Crystal met up with us, and then all of us, bellies full, walked over to enjoy the vendor fair at UCI. I ran into a lot of old friends :). The day was gorgeous. We ended our mini walk with a last minute stroll through Aldrich. It was perfect. Then, Rupert bear and I headed to the beach. Again, perfect. Then off to practice where I got to help Gen 19 with Kaze and then Dinner with my family at LA live at the ESPN Zone. LA Live is cray cray. Back to Irvine, where we helped Jodaiko with spam sales prep, and sang with the Cher tape. Back to Bahia.
Day Three: OMG NO TIME LAST DAY HNNNGGG. Briefly got to catch up with my GP, hit up 85 degrees and then got my comfort food fix at Mentatsu and then back to Fresno :(
The trip was amazing. It was a tour de food. I don’t know how long it will take me to recover from eating so much delicious food. I hit up everywhere I wanted too with the exception of the Kogi truck and Albatross. Can’t wait to visit home again.
I decided not to send in my resume and personal statement for the NATC internship, because I wound’t be able to keep my job. Money, you win again. :(
- Jeff: I think they're so cute! I wanna have a threesome with them but I think they're straight. I want to make a facebook event called "threesome" and invite them, and just let them figure it out.
- Me: GENIUSSS!!!!
Marina and The Diamond’s Cover of 3oh3’s Starstrukk :)
L-O-V-E’s just another word I never learned to pronounce
Sheets, then computer time, then shared a room temperature bottle of arbor mist(from the bottle of course), modern family, cuddle chat, good byes ;), and now sleep.
PS. If I get the time off, guess who is making a visit with the boy in two weeks ;) guess where ;) see you soon Irvine.
I saw MY FIRST girl in Fresno to have a Fox Tail on her purse. Naturally I approached her and told her “OMG YESSS” :) It was a fake one. I must admit, they look REALLY cool haha. I want one now :(.
ALso, I love working in the Men’s section. I get to flirt with attractive boys all day long, and suggest clothes for them to try one…. mmmmmm. #ilovemyjob
